Aerial Apparatuses

  • Lyra (also known as aerial hoop, aerial ring or cerceau/cerceaux) is a circular steel apparatus suspended from a rigging point. Performers showcase strength and grace as they spin, hang, and contort themselves on and inside the hoop, creating dynamic and elegant aerial routines. Lyra is popular in circus arts and aerial dance, offering a unique blend of athleticism and artistic expression.

  • The Infinity Lyra is a custom metal apparatus made by the wonderful Crunchtime Aerial. Currently it is the only known one in the southern hemisphere and the second one in the world (the original one is located in the US). It is over 2 metres tall and over 1 metre wide. What’s amazing about this unique apparatus is that although some things are transferrable from lyra, there is room for so many different tricks to be discovered each time you take it for a spin.

  • Dance trapeze is a single-point trapeze apparatus suspended from a rigging point, allowing it to spin and swing freely. Performers blend strength, control, and artistry as they flow through poses, transitions, and spins, creating expressive and fluid aerial sequences. Popular in both circus arts and aerial dance, dance trapeze offers a unique combination of power, grace, and musicality, making it an ideal choice for those looking to explore creative movement in the air.

  • Aerial Pole is similar to spin pole however there is an extra movement element as it is connected by a rope at the top of the pole and does not connect to the ground.

  • Aerial hammock (also known as aerial sling, teardrop or dance hammock) is a suspended fabric looped into a U-shape, anchored from above. Performers use the hammock to wrap, pose, and suspend themselves in the air, blending fluid movements with acrobatic techniques. It's a versatile apparatus popular in aerial arts and fitness, offering opportunities for both relaxation and dynamic aerial routines.

  • Silks (also known as Tissu) consist of two long pieces of fabric suspended from a height, allowing performers to showcase acrobatic skills and artistic expression. It involves climbing, twisting, and dropping while manipulating the fabric to create dynamic poses and movements in the air. Silks blend strength, flexibility, and grace to create captivating performances in circus arts and dance.

  • Rope (also known as corde lisse) is a single thick rope typically made of cotton or synthetic material, hung from a rigging point. Performers use strength and agility to climb, wrap, and maneuver around the rope, showcasing acrobatic feats and fluid movements high above the ground. Rope combines athleticism with artistic expression, often seen in circus performances and aerial dance routines.
