  • What makes our studio different is the way we prioritise the individual. With private lessons and intentionally small group classes, every student receives personalised coaching, hands-on support and the attention they deserve. This creates a safer, more supportive environment where lessons can be tailored to each person’s goals, confidence level and experience, whether they are complete beginners or advanced students refining their skills.

Aerials

  • For clothing, please wear normal firm fitting workout gear with legging that cover at least the back of your knees (full length leggings are recommended). Please ensure there are no zippers or other items on clothes that could get snagged on the material and remove jewelry and watches prior to class. No shoes or socks are required. Come Fly With Me Aerials has branded leggings and shirts available for purchase.

  • During your first lesson, you will be shown a series of moves to assess your ability on your chosen apparatus. From there, you will be given progressions or regressions depending on your skill level. Each lesson will be tailored to you level with challenges and advancements as you grow stronger.

  • During your first aerial class, you will be introduced to foundational skills on the chosen apparatus in a supportive small-group environment. I will assess each student’s current ability and provide progressions or regressions so everyone can work at a level that feels both safe and appropriately challenging.

Each class is structured to allow students to build strength, technique and confidence over time, with clear pathways for advancement as skills develop. With small class sizes, every student still receives individual guidance and feedback while enjoying the motivation and community that comes from learning alongside others.

  • While strength is important for aerials, it's not a prerequisite to start. With dedication, patience and proper training, you can gradually build the strength and technique needed to excel. We starts with basics moves and sequences that require technique and help build strength. As you progress, you'll gradually build strength through conditioning exercises and more challenging aerial moves.

  • Having a background in dance or gymnastics can certainly be helpful when starting aerials, but it's not a requirement. Aerials is a unique discipline that combines elements of both dance and gymnastics, but it's also a distinct art form with its own techniques and terminology. Although having some level of physical fitness and body awareness can be beneficial when starting aerials, it is not a requirement and with the right instruction and guidance paired with a willingness to learn, an openness to trying new things, and a commitment to training and practicing regularly, anyone can learn aerials regardless of their prior experience or background.

  • Aerials, like any physical activity, can be challenging and demanding on your body. Pain during aerials could be a sign that you are pushing yourself too hard or attempting moves beyond your current abilities. It could also indicate a lack of proper technique or form, which can put undue stress on your body. However, pain during aerials can be just that your body is not used to the pressure that is being put on it by the apparatus. This type of pain usually diminishes as you condition your body and become stronger. As always, it is important to communicate with your aerial instructor if you are experiencing pain or discomfort during training. They can provide guidance on proper form and technique, as well as modifications or progressions to help you build strength and skill safely.

Pilates

  • Pilates is a low-impact exercise method that focuses on building core strength, improving flexibility and enhancing posture and body awareness. It involves controlled movements that target deep stabilising muscles to promote balance, alignment and overall body control. Pilates can be performed on a mat or using specialised equipment, such as reformers, to help deepen the workout and improve precision. Come Fly With Me Aerials currently offers mat Pilates classes only.

  • Pilates is an excellent way to improve your overall fitness and complement other forms of exercise, such as aerial arts. It helps increase flexibility, improve posture and build core strength, all of which are essential for enhancing aerial skills. Pilates also promotes better body awareness and alignment, reducing the risk of injury. Whether you are looking to improve your flexibility, build strength or just stay active, Pilates is a great addition to any fitness routine.

  • Private Pilates lessons offer a personalised experience tailored to your specific fitness goals and needs. In a one-on-one session, your instructor will guide you through exercises designed to target your unique strengths and areas for improvement. Private lessons allow for more detailed instruction, individualized modifications and focused attention on your form, ensuring you get the most out of each session. Whether you're a beginner or an advanced practitioner, private Pilates lessons provide the support and guidance needed to help you progress at your own pace.

Barre

  • Barre is a low-impact, high-burn workout that blends elements of ballet-inspired movement, Pilates, strength training and functional fitness. Using controlled movements, pulses, holds and repetition, barre targets muscular endurance, posture, balance and core stability while improving overall strength and body awareness. It is suitable for a wide range of fitness levels and can be adapted to support both beginners and experienced movers.

Affectionally described by Danielle as “spicy Pilates”, barre delivers the same core-focused control and precision you may know from Pilates, but with an extra layer of intensity that leaves muscles shaking in the best way. Expect a challenging yet fun class that builds long, strong muscles, improves stability and leaves you feeling empowered, energised and accomplished.

  • Barre is an excellent addition to aerial training because it builds the kind of strength, control and endurance that directly supports progress in the air. Through small, precise movements and sustained holds, barre strengthens the core, glutes, legs, shoulders and postural muscles that are essential for climbs, inversions, stability and clean lines on apparatus. It also improves balance, coordination and body awareness, helping you move with more confidence and efficiency during aerial skills.

Barre is a fantastic workout for anyone wanting to build strength, improve posture, increase muscular endurance and enhance overall body awareness. It combines low-impact movements with high intensity effort, making it effective for toning muscles, strengthening the core and improving balance without placing excessive stress on the joints. Barre is suitable for many fitness levels and offers a challenging, energising class that leaves you feeling stronger and more capable.

For aerialists, barre is an ideal cross-training method because it strengthens the stabilising muscles needed for control, clean lines and safe technique in the air. It helps build core strength for inversions, shoulder stability for hangs and upper body work, and leg strength for climbs, mounts and powerful movement. Regular barre training can also improve flexibility, coordination and endurance, helping you progress faster and move more confidently on your apparatus.

  • Private barre lessons offer a personalised approach to strength, posture and movement training tailored specifically to your goals and fitness level. Whether you are building confidence as a beginner, returning to exercise, wanting extra challenge, or using barre to support your aerial training, each session is customised to your needs. With one-on-one guidance, you receive focused coaching on technique, alignment and progression, allowing you to train safely, effectively and at a pace that suits you.

Mobility and Flexibility

  • Flexibility and mobility training involves exercises designed to improve the range of motion in your joints and the length of your muscles. Flexibility focuses on the ability of muscles to lengthen and stretch, while mobility targets the movement capabilities of your joints, ensuring they move freely and without restriction. Together, these two aspects enhance overall physical performance and can be especially beneficial for aerialists, dancers and anyone seeking to improve their movement quality.

  • Flexibility and mobility training is essential for improving movement efficiency, reducing the risk of injury and enhancing overall physical performance. For aerialists, it can significantly improve the ability to perform high-level moves and transitions. Regular training helps increase your body's range of motion, allowing you to move more fluidly and comfortably in both everyday activities and specialized practices. Additionally, it aids in muscle recovery and promotes better posture and alignment, making it a vital part of any fitness or aerial training routine.

  • Private flexibility and mobility lessons offer individualised attention to address your specific needs, whether you're working to improve overall flexibility, target tight areas or enhance joint mobility for better movement. In a private setting, your instructor can tailor each session to your current range of motion, providing personalised exercises and stretches to gradually increase flexibility and mobility. With focused guidance and corrective feedback, private lessons help you progress at your own pace, making them ideal for those with specific goals.
